Clermont Hotel Group (CHG) has once again secured a place in the prestigious UK’s Best Workplaces™ 2025 List ranking 46th in the Super Large category, demonstrating CHG’s dedication to delivering an exceptional workplace culture.
CHG’s commitment to being an employer of choice is evident from the long service of many of its employees. An impressive 103 employees have been with the company for over 10 years, reaching a combined total of 1,908 years of service in both head office and hotel positions. Among them, Bechir Messaoud, hotel projects manager at The Tower Hotel, has dedicated an incredible 35 years to the company starting as a barman at The Clermont London, Charing Cross and developing into food and beverage management and operations management in hotels across the group.
Bechir said: “Every day you learn lessons. You’re never perfect. But I have worked hard and carried on with my career and I was rewarded for my capabilities by CHG. Our hotels are in iconic locations, and we’re very lucky as a team to be surrounded by such key areas of London – it gives a sense of pride when you come to work every day.”
Paul Knightley, chief operating officer, has been with CHG since 2000, holding key roles across finance, general management and operations. He said: “As I enter my 25th year at Clermont Hotel Group, I couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come – it’s a real testament to the culture, commitment and passion of our team. This was never just a stop along the way for me—I have stayed and developed my career here because I believed in building this business, so CHG securing a listing within the Super Large category is truly rewarding.”
To celebrate this achievement members of the CHG executive team attended the awards ceremony at JW Marriott Grosvenor House, Park Lane on 13 March alongside key departments and individuals who played a significant role in the company’s success. Special invitations were awarded to Lisa Fountain, head of the procurement department, as well as Abs Linton, general manager of Thistle Piccadilly and Thistle Trafalgar hotels, for their dedication and outstanding contributions this past year.
Heather Harris, group HR director for CHG said: “It’s an honour to once again be listed the top 50 UK’s Best Workplaces™. This recognition fills me with immense pride for our whole team, and the key individuals who have contributed to this result. Our dedicated team of 1,650 people is fully committed to delivering excellence for our guests, and it’s wonderful to see that they feel this commitment is reciprocated in their employment with us.”
