Corinthia and Kuwaiti Action Real Estate Company acquire prime location properties in Beverly Hills

Corinthia Group, trading as IHI plc, announces that its recently formed partnership with Action Real Estate Company of Kuwait has acquired two boutique hotel properties totalling 100 keys in a prime location in Beverly Hills, California.

The acquisition of the neighbouring Maison and Mosaic Hotels by the Action Corinthia joint venture, in which IHI plc owns a minority stake, is part of a broader strategy for the Beverly Hills market.

Simon Naudi, Corinthia Group CEO, said: “This is an important step forward for Corinthia. Beverly Hills is one of the world’s foremost hospitality destinations and we are determined to add value and create luxury products and services to the benefit of the local community and our Corinthia brand’s global positioning.”

Action Real Estate Company Chairman Sheikh Mubarak A. M. Al Sabah said: “We are thrilled to announce our entry into the prestigious Beverly Hills market, marking a significant milestone in our strategic partnership with Corinthia. As a company with a strong track record in global real estate and hospitality investments, this transaction represents an exciting new chapter for us. With decades of experience in markets around the world, including Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, we are now expanding into the United States, which remains a key market for future growth and innovation.”

The hotels will be operated in the immediate term by a specialist Los Angeles operator Palisociety under current branding arrangements, under the supervision of Corinthia’s development arm Corinthia Real Estate Ventures (C-REV) and its Managing Partners Marcus Pisani and Alex Chazkel. C-REV will also handle asset management and explore opportunities for future value creation.

Corinthia Group operates globally and includes investment, development and operating arms, principally focused on high end real estate projects and operations.

The Group announced last December that it had entered into a partnership with Kuwaiti-based conglomerate Action Real Estate Company to explore investment opportunities for luxury hotels and real estate at prime locations in the Americas and beyond.

More recently, Corinthia marked its entrance into North America as a hotel operator with the opening of The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel in New York, which has been transformed into a signature property – featuring 100 guestrooms and suites and 14 private residences – bringing a new design and luxury experience to one of the most coveted addresses on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

In other developments, the Group also recently completed the redevelopment of Brussels’ historic Grand Hotel Astoria following an extensive €150 million rebuild and restoration of the landmark property, and, last week, announced plans to operate a landmark 102-storey hotel and residential project under development in the heart of Dubai.

Women in Travel CIC launches new categories in the IWTTF Awards 2025

Women in Travel CIC is opening entries for the IWTTF (International Women in Travel & Tourism Forum) Awards 2025 with the launch of two new categories.

Now in its third year, the IWTTF Awards celebrate organisations and individuals championing all intersections of inclusion, equity and diversity in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries and will take place at a ceremony in London on Wednesday 18 June.

New categories for 2025 include Outstanding Apparent and Non-Apparent Disability Champion of the Year and Woman Leader in Hospitality of the Year, complementing existing categories such as Inclusion and Diversity Champion, Allyship Hero and Woman Leader in Travel/ Tourism/ Hospitality Technology. All winners will have prioritised and championed inclusion within their workplace and used their platform to help drive meaningful change.

Alessandra Alonso, MD and Founder of IWTTF and the Awards, said: “We have refined the awards and added two new categories for 2025. I am excited to introduce an award that particularly celebrates women working in hospitality and also one that recognises the excellent work being done to support those with apparent and non-apparent disabilities. This is still an area that is too often overlooked but, having raised this topic in different ways at IWTTF over recent years, we also know that there are some brilliant organisations and individuals committed to addressing the needs of people with disabilities. In launching this category, we hope to celebrate that work but also to shine a light on this important area and continue to drive progress in our industry.”

The Awards event will be followed on Thursday 19 June by the IWTTF Conference Day, which is now firmly established as the leading conference on DEI in the travel and tourism industry, renowned for its progressive, inspiring and thought-provoking content. Valor Hospitality’s luxury portfolio grows as Dunluce Lodge and Seaton House open for business

New five-star hotels in Northern Ireland and Scotland add iconic golf destinations to global portfolio.

Valor Hospitality Partners, a leading global hospitality management, development and acquisition company, has heralded the openings of two new luxury UK hotels as major landmarks for the award-winning business.

Seaton House, located just yards from the 18th green at the iconic Old Course at St Andrews, Scotland, and Dunluce Lodge in Northern Ireland, which overlooks the fourth fairway at Royal Portrush Golf Club, have both opened their doors to guests.

The hotels, both of which provide bespoke hospitality experiences, are operated by Valor Hospitality Partners, in partnership with US-based owners, Links Collection.

The openings of Dunluce Lodge and Seaton House are the culmination of years of dedication and hard work from the team to create the very best hotels that are perfectly suited to their local landscapes.

Seaton House introduces a new option in St Andrews, the ‘Home of Golf’, for the discerning traveller, while Dunluce Lodge becomes the Causeway Coast’s newest luxury hotel, as Valor brings its vast global luxury hospitality experience to bear in both areas.

Valor Hospitality operates nearly 100 hospitality projects across the Americas, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. These encompass luxury independent hotels and major global brands, including the McLemore Golf Resort in Georgia, USA, an award-winning destination offering world-class golf, stunning mountain views, five uniquely curated dining options and exceptional accommodation.

With 42 guest rooms, including six stunning suites and three junior suites, Seaton House offers a range of dining options, curated by Chef Patron Roy Brett, across its Bow Butts bar and two restaurants, The Board Room and Ondine Oyster & Grill.

Named Scottish Restaurant of the Year three times, the famous Ondine Oyster & Grill brand is expanding its footprint to include Seaton House while Roy has also joined Valor and the SAVOR team as Head of Culinary UK and Europe.

As part of SAVOR, Valor’s premium food and beverage division, Roy will lead on creating authentic kitchen and bar innovations that embrace the company’s global experience whilst using only local provenance which showcase Scotland’s finest produce, cultures, tastes and styles.

Situated centrally in historic St Andrews, Seaton House is just a few minutes’ walk from attractions such as the West Sands beach, famed for the majestic opening scenes of the 1981 film, Chariots of Fire and the ruins of the town’s cathedral, once the largest building in Europe. The stunning Kingdom of Fife coastline is the perfect antidote to the stresses of modern life. St Andrews, home to the third oldest university in the world, is also within easy reach of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee Airport and Kingsmuir Airfield.

Dunluce Lodge boasts 35 luxury suites, including eight in The Stookan, its private home for larger groups, together with an intimate world-class restaurant offering à la carte dining and tasting menus, also served in its wine vault with expert wine pairings and exquisite whiskey tastings. Guests can also avail of an intimate spa and private dining spaces throughout the Lodge. With the opening, the Lodge now offers one of the most stunning and bespoke romantic retreats in Northern Ireland.

With an onsite putting green and complimentary private transfers to the nearby helipad and to the clubhouses at Royal Portrush and Portstewart Golf Club, Dunluce Lodge is also a golfer’s paradise, with unencumbered views of the fourth fairway and green whilst looking out over the rugged coastline and ocean.

The vision for the hotel was born when Jonathan Harper and Robert Covington Jr, Managing Partners of Dunluce Lodge owners, Links Collection, visited Portrush in 2019 as spectators at The 148th Open and became captivated by the beauty of the landscape.

Dunluce Lodge, open in time for Portrush to host The 153rd Open this summer, is located just outside the famous coastal town on the unmissable Causeway Coast, which has been previously named as Lonely Planet’s world number one region to visit. Home to the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and backdrop for some of the planet’s biggest silver screen productions such as Game of Thrones, the Causeway Coast is one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline anywhere in the world.

Euan McGlashan, Chief Executive, Valor Hospitality said:

“We have managed and operated hotels across the UK for over a decade, building a diverse, award-winning portfolio, together with our incredible partners & ownership groups. Acclaimed Gloucestershire chef unveils brasserie-style dining experience at The Greenway Hotel

A Gloucestershire chef has unveiled a new brasserie-style dining experience at one of the county’s leading boutique hotels.

Abhijit Dasalkar, Head Chef at The Greenway Hotel & Spa, has revealed the first menu at the hotel’s new Orchard Brasserie, which has been created to offer a refined yet casual dining option from the same team behind the hotel’s 3 AA Rosette fine dining restaurant, The Garden Room.

The new brasserie concept, which will open on Friday, April 4, aims to cater to all visitors to the hotel, from longer-stay guests and spa members to local diners.

Available Thursday to Saturday from 6pm to 10pm, the Orchard Brasserie will blend classic brasserie-style French cooking – a foundation of Dasalkar’s culinary training – with bold seasonal flavours.

Guests can expect bold twist on classics such as the Guinness-inspired fish and chips, featuring black Guinness batter that resembles sea rocks, sea moss, skin-on fries, and a unique Guinness vinegar spray.

Other highlights include grilled bavette steak with sauté potatoes, fine beans, and sauce Diane; pan-fried hake fillet with spring bean cassoulet and chorizo oil; confit duck leg with braised puy lentils and smoked bacon; mushroom and truffle arancini with truffle mayonnaise, and the Greenway Burger with smoked bacon, applewood cheddar, and pickles.

To complement the menu, the Orchard Brasserie offers a selection of classic cocktails, wines, spirits and alongside a variety of soft drinks.

“I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” said Head Chef Abhijit Dasalkar. “Guests love our fine fine-dining offering, but we knew there was demand for something more informal for people to enjoy great food without it being a special occasion.

“We’ve taken inspiration from classic French brasseries but also had fun with seasonal ingredients to create something unique to The Greenway, but still carrying all the traits of brasserie dining that will be familiar to people of all tastes.

“The menu showcases a balance of refined classics and creative new dishes, ensuring there’s something for everyone, and we can’t wait for people to try it.”

The Greenway Hotel & Spa is part of the Eden Hotel Collection, which was named AA Small Hotel Group of the Year in 2025.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Orchard Brasserie as a new dining option at The Greenway Hotel & Spa,” added Luke Millikin, General Manager of The Greenway Hotel & Spa.

“This concept allows us to offer a relaxed yet high-quality dining experience, complementing our fine dining restaurant while catering to hotel guests, visitors and the wider Cheltenham community.

“This is one of a number of ways we are looking to showcase the creativity and expertise of our fantastic kitchen team with even more visitors in the coming months and years.”
