Le Grand Mazarin is delighted to announce a whole host of crafty festivities this winter, from a collaboration with Willemien Bardawil who will be creating decadent window displays at the hotel, to bauble decorating and live portraits. Head to the City of Lights this Christmas period and enjoy an enchanting stay in Le Marais to build the festive season excitement with family or friends.
Christmas Window Displays
Willemien Bardawil is a British artist and designer who paved her career between London and Paris. She founded her London studio in 2020 and has since produced commissions and collaborations with some of Europe’s leading names, from home decoration and fashion. Her energetic style draws on the figures of classical art – a celebration of the Divine Feminine at its most blissful, which made her the perfect choice for this partnership. The windows of the hotel will be filled with colour and vibrancy including swirling textiles, ripe fruits, and dancing figures – building a colour-soaked world filled with romance and natural grace. The display will be created at the end of November and will be on display until mid-January.
Pop-Up Shop & Live Portraits
Guests visiting Le Grand Mazarin between the 15th-17th December will see Willemien Bardawil’s pop-up shop where her stunning ceramic pieces will be available for purchase. For this pop-up, Willemien has collaborated with French designer Elise Testot to create a capsule clothing collection, ‘Poppy Wears Blue’. Elise Testot defines her admiration for the beauty of women and her fantasy of dressing them. Her silhouettes borrow the codes of the 1950s, added to elegant and daring designs. Feminine and playful, their first collaborative collection combines the joyful floral patterns and pop colours of artist Willemien with the frivolous and chic 50s style of designer Elise.
Lucky visitors will also have an opportunity to have a portrait painted by Willemien – a gift for family or a treat for yourself.
Bauble Decorating
Le Grand Mazarin has collaborated with Jacques Merle who was the creator of the stunning ceiling mural above the swimming pool at the hotel. He will be decorating baubles at the hotel on the 9th, 16th or 23rd of December and invites guests to watch as he creates stunning designs on the baubles. The baubles will be available to purchase for guests to take a piece of Le Grand Mazarin home for Christmas.
Le Grand Mazarin boasts 61 rooms and suites, a restaurant, bar, winter garden, cabaret, and an indoor swimming pool. Having opened on the 18th September 2023, the new Maisons Pariente property in Paris promises to be a captivating destination this festive season. Expect elegant and flamboyant design by Martin Brudnizki and delicate dishes from Michelin starred Israeli chef Assaf Granit who revisits the Ashkenazi culinary tradition in the hotel’s restaurant Boubalé.
