Renowned Champagne house, Champagne Moutard, is now available to the UK and Ireland wine trade through an exclusive partnership with Lanchester Wines.

The Lanchester Wines portfolio includes a range of Champagne Moutard’s most popular Champagnes including its signature Grand Cuvée Brut, which is available in a range of sizes from half bottle to Jeroboam, Rose Cuvaison and Champagne Persin Blanc de Blancs.

Also available to Lanchester Wines’ customers are Champagne Moutard’s signature, artisan Cuvée Six

Cépages Brut Nature, created using six of the seven permissible Champagne grape varieties, and Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Arbane. Both wines are created with the extremely rare and ancient Arbane grape, and Champagne Moutard is the only Champagne house to create a “Vieilles Vignes” Arbane.

Mark Roberts is Lanchester Wines’ director of sales and said of the partnership: “We actively seek partnerships with businesses who align with Lanchester Wines’ strategy of exceptional quality and service, paired with a focus on sustainability. Champagne Moutard’s range and company ethos is the perfect fit for both our business and our customers.

“Through Champagne Moutard, we are able to supply our customers with outstanding quality Champagne across all price points and in various formats. With UK Champagne sales continuing to rise year on year*, we are confident the Champagne Moutard range will be a success with our customers and, in turn, their customers. James Dainty is Lanchester Wines’ Champagne Moutard brand ambassador and will be working closely with the producer to drive the brand throughout our markets.”

The Moutard family has been making wine since 1642 from its base in Buxeuil on the sunny slopes of the Côte des Bar. The family started producing Champagne in 1927 when Lucien Moutard took over the family vineyards. Champagne Moutard is recognised for its high-quality Champagnes, which are made from grapes grown in its own vineyards. The company cultivates approximately 20 hectares of vineyards, primarily in the Côte des Bar region, and is known for its Pinot Noir grapes.

Today, the family business is headed by Lucien’s son François Moutard and his sisters Agnès and Véronique. François Moutard said: “I’ve been selling our Champagne into the UK market since the 80’s and it was one of my main export markets at the time. We’ve continued our strong and historical relationship with the UK and we are proud to be able to work with Lanchester Wines to re-launch the Moutard brand into the UK with what we are confident will be a fruitful and long lasting partnership”.

Champagne Moutard’s wines are highly regarded by wine enthusiasts and have received numerous awards and accolades for their quality.
