The Aztec Hotel and Spa in Bristol is delighted to announce the appointment of Connor Lake as the new Spa Manager. With previous roles at leading spa destinations, Connor will be managing a team of seventeen at the Aztec Hotel and Spa. The team continues to grow as the award-winning spa goes from strength to strength.
Initially working his way up to role as spa manager at the MacDonald Bath Spa Hotel at the beginning of his career, Connor then specialised in fitness as Sales Manager and Assistant General Manager in DW Sports, Club Manager in Snap Fitness, and Leisure Manager in Hilton. Understanding fitness is a key element in the overall wellness experience, Connor decided to apply his knowledge in the spa setting, challenging himself by helping to build on an already prospering beauty and treatments at the Aztec spa.
On starting his role at Aztec, his goal is to see the Spa grow in both reputation and profitability, so it is recognised as the best Spa within the area. Working seamlessly with the team to inspire and enable personal growth, Connor’s mantra to spa management is all about passion. Connor says; “I firmly believe in Will>Skill. You can train someone willing to learn but if they do not have the will, skill means nothing. I hope to continue to inspire the team to do their very best!”
In 2022, The Aztec Hotel and Spa was announced as the Best Boutique Spa in the UK in the much-coveted Good Spa awards 2022, placing it on the map as a leading spa in the UK as well as enjoying new facilities in the form of a new Himalayan Salt Sauna, and the opening of its brand new Relax Lounge.
On his appointment at Aztec Hotel and Spa, and asked about what he has enjoyed most about working at the spa, Connor said “What hasn’t made it such a lovely place to work? We have an amazing, dedicated team, great guests and a company that does not cut corners, to make the Spa the very best it can be!”
Asked about his favourite things about the spa, he said “The complete package of offering at our disposal.” And his favourite treatment “I’m torn between a back massage and a Scalp massage!”
