Newmarket’s only Four Red Star hotel, Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa is committed to developing their teams and encouraging individuals to further their knowledge within their own roles. A group of managers from across the hotel and spa have recently completed their ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management Course which has enabled them to enhance their skills on leading, organising and motivating their teams.
The seven staff come from a range of roles throughout the business, strengthening all aspects of the hotel and spa, and include Lee Cooper (Executive Head Chef), Katie Lake (Spa Manager), Hector Galindo-Perez (Restaurant & Bar Manager), Beth McGowan (Financial Controller), Carla Belmonte (Assistant Spa Manager) Helena Howsam (Assistant Restaurant & Bar Manager) and Emily Carlton (Assistant Conference & Events Manager).
With seven key aspects to the course, the qualification provides:
- Enhanced core management skills including understanding on how to organise and delegate.
- The ability to perform management tasks such as standalone projects and meetings.
- Improved team leadership and motivation
- The opportunity to create a culture of innovation and plan and manage change.
- Increased communication skills
- Additional relationship building skills, including negotiation and networking.
- The chance to develop leadership capabilities and understanding.
