Multi-award winning Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa, nestled near Keswick in the captivating northern Lake District, has unveiled the completion of its £1.5 million investment into its luxury offering with the development of 12 opulent Spa Garden Suites. The elegant development, completed in May 2023, is an extension of the recent development of public spaces in the hotel including the Lake View Restaurant, Lounge and Reception areas. The new Spa Garden Suites project was born in response to the surging demand from the luxury market, demonstrating the hotel’s commitment to providing more expansive and lavish accommodation for its spa guests.

Nestled in close proximity to the main house and boasting a substantial floor footage spanning an impressive 40-50sqm, the new Spa Garden Suites offer seamless access to the hotel’s award-winning spa facilities. Guests can immerse themselves in an oasis of tranquillity as each suite integrates with the lush, verdant landscape just beyond its doors and accessible via a private patio. A unique sense of cosiness and comfort has been expertly achieved through the utilisation of natural materials and textures. Striking contemporary fireplaces adorn the suites and carefully designed lighting enhances the ambiance of refined luxury, at any time of the day.

The layout of the new Spa Garden Suites has been expertly designed in partnership with Architect Unwin Jones and each include a generous lobby area, a lavish 4-piece bathroom, a deluxe bedroom and a lounge adorned with expansive glazed windows that provide breath-taking views of the garden. Additionally, a cosy corner sofa and a captivating fireplace create a warm and inviting ambiance.

The design of the Spa Garden Suites take inspiration from the hotel’s natural environment with materials carefully chosen to tie in with the historic architecture of Armathwaite Hall, while adding a modern touch with timber finns and large expanses of glazing. Internally, the design scheme uses natural raw materials such as oak and stone to further root the rooms naturally within their surroundings. The suites have been designed to exude a sense of serenity and well-being, with calming tones such as muted greens, stormy grey blues and earthy terracottas, all inspired from the natural surrounding landscape.

On the completion of the new Spa Garden Suites, General Manager Simon Steele says; “We are excited to announce the completion of our new Spa Garden Suites. The decision to develop these was driven by the growing high-end leisure market and the increasing demand for spacious and luxurious bedrooms by our spa guests. At Armathwaite Hall, we are dedicated to continuously improving our guests’ experience and we are confident that our enhanced and upgraded suites will surpass their expectations, providing them with an exception space to unwind and rejuvenate”.
