The Annual Hotel Conference (AHC) is running a new initiative that will provide delegates with impactful solutions, inspiring initiatives and product innovations to help them face current challenges and drive sustainable business growth across hospitality.
The AHC Fringe, will present a diverse collection of 10 minute talks during coffee and lunch breaks at the conference, which takes place at the heart of the exhibition at Manchester Central Convention Complex on 3-4 October.
Running alongside the event’s main programme, the short sessions are designed to give practical advice and insights around a range of topics – from staffing and automation to energy and revenue management.
Scheduled talks include The New Normal – How To Do More With Less Staff where Jasmin Glueck of hotelkit will show how to maintain a high service level, even with limited staff and How to Use Data to Drive Total Revenue with David Goodman of Duetto.
AHC Fringe sponsor Amit Popat, Founder and CEO of Hotel Cloud will look at how technology can help drive staff productivity in his session Smart Hotels – Insights with Amazon and Hotel Cloud. Together with Albert Creixell, Head of Europe Partner Programs, Amazon Alexa, Popat will highlight cutting edge solutions that can also enhance guest experience in the hotel and increase profitability.
With energy price hikes an issue faced by all, there are two sessions planned on energy management. In Power-up: Cost-effective Energy Management, Archie Stirling and Rudge Bowen of Responsible Power will demonstrate how hoteliers can manage energy consumption effectively to reduce costs and their carbon footprint while Naked Energy’s Christian Albrecht will discuss solar technologies in Decarbonising Energy: How to Maximise Financial and Environmental Returns with On-Site Renewables.
All talks will be filmed and available on demand. Sessions will complement the main programme of dynamic sessions, featuring more than 90 industry-leading speakers and delivered as keynotes, panel discussions and one-to-ones.
Under the theme ‘Charting the Course’ the programme is designed to steer the industry through challenging times and will cover a range of topics – from ESG and staffing to investment and forward booking trends.

Joe Stather, market lead for Questex’s Operational Real Estate portfolio, including the AHC, said: “Providing education and inspiration as well as the chance to connect are core aims for The AHC, so it’s fantastic to be able to continue these aims with further support for business growth through The AHC Fringe. With such dramatic change happening inside and outside our industry, we recognise that there’s never been a more important time to share innovation and provide practical solutions.”
