SwimTrek, the world’s leading swimming holiday operator, has completed a 50km swim around Guernsey in a relay format. The group finished the intense test of endurance on the evening of 24 July at the La Valette Bathing Pools and were met by Carl Chapman, General Manager of Fermain Valley Hotel and his team with a warming cup of hot chocolate, champagne, and a bespoke cake.

The group began and ended their challenge in St. Peter Port’s waters, with the route taking them past iconic landmarks such as Castle Cornet, the cliffs of Jerbourg, and the beautiful beaches of Vazon Bay. The event is hoped to encourage SwimTrek to work closely with Guernsey and promote the island as a premier swimming holiday destination. The trip was organised by SwimTrek in partnership with VisitGuernsey and the group stayed at Fermain Valley Hotel.

Carl said: “On behalf of Hand Picked Hotels, we were delighted to congratulate the team with warming drinks and delicious refreshments. The challenge has offered unrivalled opportunity to showcase Guernsey to new global audiences. It is a pleasure to have the SwimTrek team stay with us and we are hopeful this will inspire more swimmers to visit our beautiful waters.”

Managing Director of SwimTrek, Ash Van Wensveen said: “Our swim around Guernsey exemplifies our passion for open water swimming and our dedication to promoting extraordinary swimming destinations. Guernsey is a stunning island with spectacular waters. The hospitality we have received in the islands from all supporting parties has been amazing and being greeted by cake and champagne added a touch of magic to the end of our swim.”
